Why the rings of carilage of the trechea is in C -shaped ?

and

Why the cartilaeg of the bronchi is in circular shaped

I think that C-shaped cartilage at trachea is to allow the oesophagus to expand as they are so close. So, the opening of C-shaped ring is facing towards the oesoesophagus.

However the bronchi is far away from the oesophagus. There is no need for the cartilage to have a special shape.
For a better support, it appears as circular shaped.

You can imagine that esophagus is a canal locates nearly behind trechea. When food passes through the esophagus it swells and presses towards trechea. If the rings of carilage of the trechea is in full O-shaped we may feel pain during swallowing food. But it is unnecessary to bronchi since the esophagus is not near to them. Such contradiction is the result of evolution that lasts for serveral million years.
