1. Sam buys 500 TV game set at a total cost of $100000. If each game set is sold at a discount of 20% and he makes a profit of 20%, find
a) his total profit.
b)the selling price of each game set.
c)the marked price of each game set.

profit:(100000除500)x(1-20%)x20%
=200x80%x20%
=32

the selling price:(100000除500)x(1-20%)
=200x80%
=160

the marked price:100000除500
=200

a) Total Profit = $100,000 x 20% = $20,000

b)
Cost of each game set = $100,000 / 500 = $200
price = 200 / (1-20%) = $250
(p.s. this 20% means the profit percentage)

c) price = $250 / (1-20%) = $312.5
(p.s. this 20% means the discount percentage)

a) total profit
= $100000x20%
= $20000
b) selling price
= $(100000+20000)/500
= $240
c) marked price
= $240/(1-20%)
= $300

a) 100000 x 0.2 = 20000

b) (100000 x 1.2) / 500 = 240

c) 240 / (1 - 0.2) = 300
