This is certainly NOT true.
The Coriolis force does exist and is responsible for the turning of cyclones and hurricanes, or monsoon winds that span over hundreds of miles does its effect be observable. The effect of the Coriolis force on a body of water the size of a bathtub or sink, of order of 10 cm in diameter, is simply too small to be noticed in everyday life.
The effect can only be barely observable in a swirl of water of about 2 m diameter discharging through a perfectly circular drain-hole in a well-designed experiment under well controlled environmental conditions. The water has to be left idle for at least two days in order to eliminate any residual motion before draining away.
