woww you won`t want to use pubmed to search for things like these if all you need is general information. pubmed will give you serious scientific research papers which people outside the specific field won't even understand, and not all articles can be viewed in full without subscription (abstracts can). there is no harm trying though; you might be able to find something useful.
For your first question, the rate of metabolism of the plant depends on the activity of its enzymes; and enzymes have an optimal temperature. So I would predict - rate of metabolism in plants would increase with temperature, and then drop after it goes beyond the optimal.
I am not too sure about the second question: I am not familiar with physiology. I would recommend that you start at medline plus:
