hi there,
If u need a F-1 visa, I am afraid that the said amount is only sufficient for 1 semester at UC Berkeley..
On top of tuitions, u have to spend a pile on textbooks and room & board!
U probably don't know how much the cost could run up to in the US. A textbook in the US usually tag for $ 70 to 100 and if u take 5 to 6 courses each semester, then u have to spend almost 1 grand (greenback) on textbook for each semester.
Insurance is another headache, most states in the US require international students purchase their insurance plan before they can issue an I-20
For the said college, I am afraid that you have to spare about HK$ 300000 to 350000 each year and if you need to go to school during summer, u need to spend more.
For affordable big names, u may try UT-Austin or UL Urbana-Champaign. Even so, you have to expect about HK$ 800000 for a bachelor degree program
I am afraid that going to college in the US is getting way too expensive... I just can't afford it anymore...thank goodness, I was on schlorship when I did college

In that case, you have to take 4 years to finish the degree. that will cost you 1.3M Hong Kong dollars

to save money, u may go to summer school so that u can finish the degree in 3 years but u need to pay for summer school..in that case u may cut it down to about 1 million HK dollars
