There is a communication satellite. It is a large spherical plastic balloon with a metal coating on its surface. If its diameter is 30.5 m, find the area of the coating.

area of sphere = 4x 3.14 x r^2r = 30.5/2 = 15.25
area of coating = 2922m^2

4 pi r^2 = 4 pi (30.5/2)^2 = 2922.47 m^2
