find the Final Temperature that will result when 15.75g of ice at 0C is add to 78.6ml of water initially at a T of 20C.At 20C, the Density of the water is 0.9982g/ml.for H2O,DeltaH(fusion)=6.01kj/mol.deltaH(vaporization)=40.7kj/mol. Specific heat(liquid water)=4.18J/gC.

= 15.75/(1x2+16) mol of H2O
= 0.875 mol of H2O
78.8ml of water
= 78.6x0.9982 g of water
= 78.4585 g of water
Let final temperature be ToC.
6.01x1000x0.875 + 15.75x4.18T = 78.4585x4.18(20-T)
5258.75 + 65.835T = 6559.1306 - 327.9565T
393.7915T = 1300.3806
T = 3.3
Therefore the final temperature is 3.3oC
