1.Add some NaOH solution to Bromine water
Br2+2NaOH---->NaBrO3+NaBr+H2O
write down the observation and explain it

2.then add some H2SO4 to solution in(1)

1. Br2+2NaOH ---> NaOBr +NaBr +H2O
<----

the orange colour will fade out. bromine solution is decolourized.

2. when sulphur acid is added , acid react with hydroxide,

the equilibrium position shift to the left, so the solution become orange

again.

3. when silver nitrate is added, the silver ion will react with bromide

to form insoluble silver bromide.

AgNO3+ NaBr--->AgBr + NaNO3
