2 (x + 3) = 2x + 6
It's simple really,
just look at both numbers and think of the highest common factor that comes out of both of them.
In this case the equation is 2x + 6
2 comes out of 2x and comes out of 6 also
your answer should be : 2(x+3) which = 2x+6 (if your multiplying out the brackets and can also be used to check to see if your answer is right
Good Luck!
2x+6=0
2(x+3)=0
x+3=0
x=-3
find the common number in 2 and 6
which is 2
2x divided by 2 is x
and 6 divided by 2 is 3
the answer is (x+3) with 2 outside the brackets
2(x+3).
The HCF of 2x and 6 is 2
2x=2^1*3^0*x^1
6=2^1*3^1*x^0 Use the small power
HCF=2^1*3^0*x^0=2
2x:2=x, 6:2=3
The factorization of 2x+6 is 2(x+3).
