Tiramisu誕生於1981年威尼斯小鎮Treviso,經一位在當地出生的意大利美食評論家推向國際,當地一間名為Le Beccherie餐廳的廚師,把細長的奶油餅乾泡在Espresso咖啡當中,加上Mascarpone芝士和可可粉製成甜品,取名為Tiramisu,意即「請帶我走」。傳統的Tiramisu是以吉士醬、手指餅(lady finger)及碎朱古力製成,質感較鬆軟,至近年才以Mascarpone芝士代替吉士醬,以可可粉或咖啡粉代替碎朱古力。

Tiramisu was created in a small Venetian town called Treviso in 1981 and introduced to the world by a Trevisian Italian food critic. A chef from a local restaurant called Le Beccherie soaked long thin finger biscuits in Espresso coffee and added Mascarpone cheese and coco powder to create this dessert named Tiramisu which literally translated as "Please Take Me Away". The traditional Tiramisu, which has a softer texture, was made of custard, lady-finger biscuits and chocolate chips. Only until recently the custard was substituted by Mascarpone cheese and chocolate chips by coco powder.
