(x-6) (x-8) =0 find the solutions?
回答 (24)
Using the slowest way
(x-6) (x-8) = 0
either
x - 6 = 0
x - 6 + 6 = 0 + 6
x - 0 = 6
x = 6
or
x - 8 = 0
x - 8 + 8 = 0 + 8
x - 0 = 8
x = 8
Note that if we say that both are equal to zero than
the equation can not be solved
(0 = 0)
and that is why we ignore this assume
This is very simple eqution.
Either (x-6) = 0 or (x-8)=0 then if x-6=0 then x=6
if x-8=0 then x=8
When solving these sort of questions we can apply the Null Law, basically this means that for (x-6)(x-8)=0 to be true either (x-6) or (x-8) or both of them have to equal to 0.
Therefore we look what we have to add to the parentheses to make them 0. For (x-6) we need to add 6 as 6-6=0 and for the (x-8) we need to add 8 and 8-8=0.
Therefore the solutions are 6 and 8.
(x-6) (x-8) =0
either x-6 = 0 or x-8 = 0
x = 6, 8
