這篇是人物傳記, 單修正文法不夠, 有關名詞需要查究, 否則會很奇怪.Zhang Kaiji (1912-2006) was born in Shanghai to a family with ancestral roots in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. In 1935, he graduated from the National Central University (which later became Nanjing Univesity after 1949) with a degree in architecture.
After graduation, he joined prestigious architectual firms such as Palmer and Turner, for its design section, and then Kwan, Chu and Yang. Then he started his own firm in Shanghai and Nanjing. His public engagement included Chief Architect for Beijing Architectural Design Institute, and Vice-chairman of Arhitectural Society of China.
He died in Beijing on 28 September, 2006.
His best-known works are the viewing tower of Tiananmen Square, Diaoyutai Guest House, the Beijing Astronomical Observatory, and the Science Musuem of Beijing. In a 10-year period in his career that can be said to be his prime, he had contributed to a number of iconic works, giving his reputation of "designer of half of Beijing". Zhang once said to his peer, "Achitectual design is not just about one person, but an integral part of the entire city".
Zhang was married to madame Sun Jing. He had two sons, namely Zhang Baohe and Zhang Yonghe, who is also an architect.
