1. Why do electrons keep moving around the nucleus and not away from the atom ?

2. Why do some chemical symbols have one letter and some have two or three letters ?

Q1.
Electrons are attracted by the positvely charged nucleus at the center of the atom.
Hence, a centripetal force acting on electrons, causing them moving around the nucleus.

Q2.
It is NOT a physics question!!!!
There are over 100 different elements in nature!!
If Chemical symbols MUST have only one letter, then maximum 26 symbols (i.e. A~Z) can be used.
e.g. C for Carbon & Ca for Calcium, we CANNOT use C to represent calcium since this will mix with element carbon.
