another busy week, especially with all these big events happening at the centre! let me see... where should i begin? hmm... i was really occupied the whole last week with the visit from an important guest who has great influence on elderly service and i had to prepare for the performance by some of our members at the volunteer prize presentation ceremony... had to spend most of my time with these two big events, plus had to take care of the book fair at the centre and so on..... could hardly sit and take care of my own work most of the time....
and then there's the 24-hour praying event. i could only attend the 18:00-21:00 session becoz of my work, and husband stayed there overnight until 9:00 the next morning! and then we had to prepare for some former churchmates to come over and visit our new home. it's really nice indeed, and we talked alot!!!!
as for sunday, finally i had the time with all the unsold books at the back of the office!!!! thank goodness!!!!
and yes, i have received my pay cheque on monday and i didn't hear it wrong! the raise's really great! more than i had expected nor asked for (actually, i didn't really ask for a raise or anything, i was quite contented, but u know god, he always gives more than we ask for) and hopefully we can start saving some money for emergency~~~
a tragedy happened last sat around the centre while i was away for the performance. a girl killed herself... it's all over the news... and we had to do some aftermath work.... yesterday, my supervisor and i, together with a staff from swd, visited the family for awhile, talked abit. of course it's not easy for them to overcome the loss or deal with the stuff... plus the press keeps asking for more inside stories or stuff like that... no way they can really let go of the whole thing at the moment. i feel sad for them... and hopefully we can help more for this family within this week.
