根據天主教百科全書 (the Catholic Encyclopedia)史上最年輕的教皇是 Pope John XII. (955 – 964)
他於 955年12月16日登位時僅得18歲.
他於 964 年5月14日 逝世.
亦有傳聞史上最年輕的教皇是Pope Benedict IX，登位時為12歲。
但根據天主教百科全書，Pope Benedict IX登位時約為20歲。
