Advantages
Can carry hazardous cargo
Low risk of contamination
Can be used for storage at receiver's plant
Like the Flexitank, it can carry as much as 24,000 liters of bulk liquid product

Disavantages
High repositioning costs
High demurrage costs
High cleaning and maintenance costs
Repairs to damages in an isotank are chargeable to the customer

[Flexitank]
Advantages
No repositioning costs
No demurrage costs
No cleaning and mainenance costs
Low capital cost and therefore low transport cost
Only two pumping operations (at supplier and receiver)
Virtually no risk of contamination (a Flexitank is soley dedicated to the liquid product being shippped)
Flexitank can be used as a highly efficient temporary storage facility at the receiver’s plant.

Limitations
Cannot carry hazardous liquid product
Need to be tested for compatibility with the liquid product being shipped
