Healthy snacks! --I really need to find some healthy yummy sweet snacks to stop me eating junk food...?

I love crisps etc but i know they are terible for my health most people say bake sweet potatoe etc but it jsut doesnt satisfie me any suggestions?

I like fruit, particularly raisins and grapes. I also buy the low or no fat, low calorie fudgicles (pops) and low fat/low calorie puddings. I think you may be British (crisps is a tipoff) so I don't know what you can get over there. You might also be able to find low-fat crisps - the small bags - and one bag, counted into what you take in for the day, might satisfy you as well. Good luck.

Hi,

You can buy slightly sweet and salted air popped popcorn which is low salt and low sugar from Blockbusters, this is ok to have and is yummy (i only like real sweet popcorn but this is lovely!). It is low GI as well so should keep you fuller for longer.

You can also dry roast chickpeas, they are crunchy and yummy. Or have some nuts or seeds, sunflower seeds are the nicest, they have a nutty taste.

70% cocoa or more dark choc, have 1 large square a day if you like (i was told this by my nutritionist). I used to hate dark choc but now i love it. Try different brands they are all slighty different.

Make your own "cereal" bars...i found a great recipe and have made them they are scrummy...

I'm addicted to dried apricots and dried prunes - ok, the prunes thing sounds disgusting, but they are really nice and satisfy that sweet tooth. Just don't eat too many in one go, the results can be <cough> explosive if your disgestion isn't used to them!

If you must have chocolate, go for one with a high cocoa percentage, around 75%. You'll only need about 2 cubes as the flavour is such an intense 'hit'.

Dried fruit, nuts with honey on them. Dark chocolate is good for you (if you have a piece or two).
