4(a) 2cosx+1=(2)1/2+1
Plot y=2
∵ 180≦x≦360
∴x=(2,300∘)
4(b) 4cosx+1=0
cosx= -1/4
2cosx+1=(2)(-1/4)+1=1/2
Plot y=1/2
∵0≦x≦90
∴x is underfined on the graph.
