I you are taking about the Yahoo 知識+ inside a browser of a Chinese Windows,
that & quot seems to be a very [ special feature ].
-------------------------
Before answering your question, there is some basic knowledge :
In the keyboard, there is a key next to the ENTER key.
That character is the QUOTE (or called SINGLE-QUOTE)
The shift of that character is nick-named DOUBLE-QUOTE
-------------------------
Now, you can try to REPLY randomly a queston.
Then, in the answer box, you can try to input:
-------------------------
XhelloX
XhelloBX
YhelloY
YhelloBY
-------------------------
where X is the SINGLE-QUOTE character
Y is the DOUBLE-QUOTE character
B is the SPACE character.
Then, click the PREVIEW button.
You will find this & quot
Here is the my result now (2008-02-22 23:26):
-------------------------
'hello'
'hello '
"hello"
"hello "
-------------------------
Hope that your trial can get the same result !
BTW, to bypass this special feature I will use [ ] instead of single/double quotes.

Sorry, the previous anwser has something wrong.Actually, the SINGLE-QUOTE character is named as APOSTROPHE, not QUOTE.DOUBLE-QUOTE character is also known as QUOTEBut now, just using the word QUOTE is quite confusing. It is better to use SINGLE QUOTE and DOUBLE QUOTE.
