Film Review – The Sound Of Music
The Sound of Music, was first a musical, and then changed into a film. The story is about a nun called Maria. Maria always brought trouble to the church. Therefore, the abbess sent her to be a governess to seven children of Captain Georg Ritter von Trapp, the captain of the Austro-Hungarian Navy.
Maria fell in love with the Captain later but the Captain had a girlfriend in Vienna. When the Captain realized that he also love Maria, he decided to give up the love between he and his girlfriend.
Unfortunately, the German army had conquered Austria. The Germans wanted Captain to work for Germany. Captain loved his country and he must not allow himself to betray the country.
The German even frightened them. They said,” You work for Germany, or you and your family will die.” Captain and Maria agreed to escape to other countries with their children. When they went out at night, they were discovered by the German soldiers.
The songs in the film are very nice and suitable for the scenes. The leading actress, Julie Andrews, who acted as Maria, can sing very well. Also, the changing of Captain’s mind was described nicely. The singing of Captain’s family makes this film become better than just a movie without singing. It is suitable for the word “classical”.
