The stories in both books tell us that (1) God is the One who can strengthen the weak, IF they have faith and love in Him. As we can see, both Jeal and Judith are supposed to be ordinary women. There are men who seem to be stronger than them. Unfortunately, they are all scared! (e.g. A great general needs a female prophet/judge to stand beside him for a battle, even if God has promised to give him victory!) So God allows someone weaker (maybe the weakest in humans' eyes) to complete great work, which amazes us (and makes us feel shameful too). Clearly God wants people who believe in Him to place more trust in Him through the way He helps "little women" to achieve great things.

SO before killing someone much stronger, Judith asks God for strength:

... approached to his bed, and took hold of the hair of his head, and said, Strengthen me, O Lord God of Israel, this day. And she smote twice upon his neck with all her might, and she took away his head from him. ... Praise, praise God, praise God, I say, for he hath not taken away his mercy from the house of Israel, but hath destroyed our enemies by mine hands this night. (Judith)

God actually can do anything easily with His own great power, but He seems to choose human hands to act His will always. We probably have no patience to stand people (e.g. Israelites, who sin again and again) who lack faith and obdience. However, He still remembers His promise to the "chosen people" and would like to help them, work with them together. (2) God likes to do great things with us so that we can remember and experience His salvation, greatness, and share the joy working together with Him.

Praise ye the LORD for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves. ...Blessed above women shall Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite be, blessed shall she be above women in the tent. (Judges)

So God can do anything alone, but He often wants to work with us together, even though that is more troublesome.

How is the role of God presented differently? Please refer to my answer to another question of yours.
