A diver 50kg climbs up a flight of 30steps to reach a spring board by the side of a swimming pool,as shown in figure.Each step is of height 0.15m.
ai)Find the potential energy gained by the driver after he came the flight of steps
ii)If the diver takes 10s to climb up the flight of step,what is his average power
iii)Which type of energy stored inside the body of the driver is transformed in climbing the steps

ai) potential energy = mgh = 50 x 9.8 x 0.15 x 30 = 2205J
ii) average power = energy/ time = 2205 / 10 = 220.5W
iii) chemical energy

iv) the energy in (iii) is greater than the potential energy gained by the diver.
It is because some energy is lost during the energy is transformed from chemical energy in body to kinetic energy of the body.
