A plastic box has a length of 20 cm and widthof 20 cm. Mr.Leung put 4 L of water inside the box and added some sand. The water level in the box is 13 cm. What is the volume of the sand in cm3?

The water level that 4 L water contain : 4000cm^3/[(20cm)(20cm)]=10cm
The volume of the sand :(13-10)(20)(20)
=1200cm^3

A plastic box base area : 20x20=400cm2
4L of water = 4000ml of water = 4000cm3 of water
the mixture of sand and water volume : 400x13=5200cm3
the sand volume : 5200 - 4200=1200cm3

Total volume of sand & water in the plastic box=20*20*13=5200cm3
Volume of sand=Total volume-4 L of water =5200-4000=1200cm3
Volume of sand=Total volume-4 L of water =5200-4000=1200cm3
