I believe that you are talking about a student studying aboard, if simply traveling, it's nothing much to discuss.

For a student to study aboard, by not limiting the scope of discussion to only studying from the schools, the below are a few points that might be new to this student.

1. He/she must learn to take care of himself/herself, like cooking, cloths cleaning and tidying up the room, etc.
2. He/she cannot rely any more of their parents and needs to learn another way of communication with the classmates more effectively.
3. He/she will know better what are the differences between HK students and overseas students, including the way of thinking and self-being.
4. He/she will know what are the differences between the HK education system against the outside. At least, examination result is not everything.
