Let y=hx^2 (x+3) + 3x +k. The following table shows some values of x and the corresponding values of y.
x: -3 , -2 , -1 , 0 , 1
y: -9 , -2 , -1 , 0 , 7

a) Find the values of h and k.
b) How many x-intercepts does the grapg of y= hx^2 (x+3) + 3x +k have?
c) If P(-4,p) and Q(2,q) are the two points on the grapg, find the values of p and q.

(a)
sub x=0 y=0
0=k
Now y=hx^2 (x+3) + 3x
sub x=1,y=7
7=4h+3
h=1
(b)
We have
y=x^2 (x+3) + 3x=x(x^2+3x+3)
Let y=0 then the solution is x=0 only
So there is no x-intercepts does the grapg of y= hx^2 (x+3) + 3x +k have
(c)
sub x=-4
Then p=(-4)^2 (-4+3) + 3(-4)=-28
sub x=2
Then q=(2)^2 (2+3) + 3(2)=26
