I dont get it (how to count 6 * 7 = 42)?

make six rows with seven circles in each row:

now count them.

7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 = 42

This can be thought of really in several different ways. To do this, think about what the problem is saying, "take 6 and add it to itself 7 times." Therefore, we have 6 + 6 + 6 + 6 + 6 + 6 + 6. Once you complete this, you should then get to 42.

Another way to do it, is by taking the number 7 and adding itself 6 times to get:

7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 to get 42. Really, it's just adding several 6s together to get 42 or adding several 7s together to get the same result.
