I think pressure is part of life in Hong Kong, and even young students find no way to escape from them.
First of all, we face a lot of pressure at school. The competition for university places is keen. We usually study up to 10 subjects for HKCEE, that means we have a lot of studying to do and many tests to go through.
Society today expect students to demonstrate other talent than getting good grades at school. We usually take up classes for piano, maths, ballet and the list goes on and on. We are expected to do well in all aspects, in order not to fail our parents and teachers.
I think the best way to ease the pressure is to make good use of our time of leisure in doing things that we really like to do, and are good for us. Taking part in sports is a very good idea.
I think talking to friends will also help.
I think the most important thing is we should make ourselves enjoy what we do. We are not required to play the piano, but play to enjoy the music. Subjects at school sometimes come with a lot of fun, such as doing sicence experiment or reading exciting historical stories.
I appeal to the adults not to force too hard on us to make us fulfil your expectations. Sometimes you want us to be someone just because you were not able to be one. it is not fair.
