Finnish and Swedish are the two official languages here in Finland, though most schoolchildren also learn English at school. In addition, it is possible for them to learn German, French, Italian and Spanish, though not all these are provided in every school. Also, the Lapland people do speak Sámi language as their mother tongue, though "mainstream" Finns do not understand that language.

Russian and Ukrainian. If I watched a movie, and later someone would ask me whether it was in Russian or in Ukrainian, I would get confused. It is difficult to notice the language unless something Russian is dubbed in Ukrainian or vice versa. It is difficult to say what channels show news in Russian, and what do that in Ukrainian... unless they translate from one into another.

Even though I live in England, people here speak.. English, the thousands of dialects, Chinese, French, Spanish, German.. etc. I suspect they'd be the most common.
