Q.1
Which of the following events E and F are mutually exclusive enents ?
A. When two dice are tossed
E = getting a difference of 2
F = getting two even numbers
Not exclusive
Consider P(E)=8/36 P(F)=9/36
P(EF)=4/36 not equal to P(E)P(F)
B. When a card is drawn from a pack of 52 playing-cards(withou t jokers)
E = drawing a diamond
F = Drawing a king
not exclusive
P(E)=13/52
P(F)=1/4 not equal to P(E)P(F)
P(EF)=1/52
C. When a boy is chosen from class S5A
E = choosing a boy with glasses
F = choosing a boy with short hair
Not exclusive
Since if there are only one boy with glasses and short hair, then if you know this boy wear glasses, then the probability of a boy with short hair is 1
So it is not exclusive
D. When a coin is tossed
E = getting a head
F = getting a tail
Yes
P(E)=P(F)=1/2
P(EF)=1/4=P(E)P(F)
There are 4 married couples in a room. If a man and a woman are selected at random, what is the probability of selceting a married couple ?
PROBABILITY
=4/8C2
=4/28
=1/7

第二題看錯了因為指明抽一男一女PROBABILITY=4/(4C1)(4C1)=4/16=1/4THE ANSWER IS C
