wishing tree victim sues director
A man whose leg was fractured by a falling branch from a famous wishing tree is suing director of home affairs Pamela Tan Kam Mi-wah for damages.
Choi kam-yin filed a high court writ to claim damages for his injuries in the February 12, 2005 incident at the Tai Po wishing tree in lam Tsuen.
The writ claims the accident was caused by negligence or breach of statutory duty on the part of the director.
