你好!
我今年讀中四(應考09年會考)
我想考完會考之後申請做交流生去美國
我有好多問題想問

1.機構
i現時有幾間機構(如 EF, CLC等)都有辦 “中學生美國文化交流計劃“，究竟有沒有分別?
ii他們的質素又如何呢?

2.申請
i我想於2009-2010年度去交流，大約那個月份報名較佳?
ii愈早申請，成功機會愈大?

3.申請成功後
i 何時會獲得通知?(放榜前/後)?

4.學業
i入讀的美國公立中學質素如何?
ii我知道要必修英文、美國史，我想問除此之外，最少還要修幾多選修科目?
iv假若我修數學，物理，化學等科，教學內容是大約等同香港的那一程度?
v能否取得該校畢業証書?
vi能參加美國的公開考試(如SAT)嗎?

5.交流後回港升學
i香港的大學是根據什麼成績來決定?
a)中學校內成績?
b)美國公開試成績(SAT)
c)會考成績
d)其他(如面試)
(iii)成功直升香港的大學機會大嗎?

You have to take Tofle test for sure, I know people who got accepted into College without SAT score. A lot of Colleges do take serious consideration of your 會考成績 though.
Public high schools in the US usually do semester system where you start from September until Dec. for the 1st semester, then started again from January until the mid of July for the 2nd semester. Yes, you will get your high school diploma after you finished your senior year.
Personally, I think American high schools are so much easlier.
You dont major in any subject until you got into college. There are certain subjects you need to take in American High School. Such as, two years Math cources, four years English cources, two years science cources, two years foreign lauguage cources, two years history cources, two years physical education, etc. you take 6 subjects for each semester.
