the degree of difraction depends on 2 factors:the gap size & the wavelength

by "wave speed=frequency x wavelength"
high-frequency sound waves have shorter wavelength
the waves which have shorter wavelength usually diffract less around the obstacle

thus the cone size should be smaller
because the wave can bend around the gap more if the size of the gap is smaller
