A long time ago, there was a king who was very fond of collecting valuable shoes. However, as the King became tired of his shoes, he put up a notice for treasurable shoes with a bag of gold coins as reward.
The notice drew the attention of many people and everyone was trying to offer the King their shoes with the hope of getting the award. However, none of the shoes could please the King.
A poor young man had a pair of magic shoes which were given to him by his deceased father. Anyone put on this pair of shoes would be able to run faster than anything else on earth. However, the magic would disappear if the shoes were given away for money. As the young man's mother was very ill, he had no choice but to give the magic shoes to the King in order to get the money to cure his mother.
The King was delighted to see how fast the young man could run after wearing the magic shoes. Therefore, he gave the young man a bag of gold coins for the magic shoes. The young man's mother was finally cured and recovered.
One day, the King tried the magic shoes but he could run only as fast as he usually did. He was very angry and arrested the young man. After realizing that the young man sold the magic shoes to him only for curing his mother, the King was very touched and gave the magic shoes back to young man and released him.
