1/3 of 1/4 is (1/3) * (1/4) = 1/12

You solve problems with "some fraction of" by multiplying.... Just like "a half of 12" is solved by (1/2) * 12 = 6

All you do is subtract and divide over with the help of the below signal to get your "c" with the help of itself. :) So upload a million/4 over, making it a million/2c<-2/4. then you incredibly opt to simplify the fraction so a million/2c<-a million/2. Then purely divide a million/2 with the help of -a million/2 making it negative a million. c<-a million

1\3 x 1\4 would mean that 4 x 3 = 12. 1x1=1, it would equal 1\12.

1/4 is 25% so what is 1/3 of that? 12% or 1/12
I understand how you feel because that is what we are doing for homework here too. It hurts to think that far back.

If you cut a cake into four pieces (1/4) and then divided each piece into three (1/3) you'd see you see that you had 12 pieces. Thus a piece is 1/12 of the total.

As others have mentioned, you do it by multiplying the fractions:

1 .. 1 .. 1
-- x -- = ---
3 .. 4 .. 12
