Stress can make your period late or even absent.

Cardiac arrhythmia often simulates movements in your stomach, because the bottom of your heart is located right on top of your stomach. Cardiac arrhythmia results from disruption of electric currents at one of the nerve centers on your heart that control your heart beat. Your heart may quiver, skip a heat or beat at irregular intervals. This condition is usually benign. But since you have had open heart surgery, you may want to check with your doctor to make sure this is ok. Yes, open heart surgery is a traumatic event that could cause you to miss your period. Your endocrinologist can run some tests to confirm this.

There are many possible reasons for a late period, in your case it is more than likely the stress caused by your surgery or because you are still not fully built up physically. If your period hasn't returned in a few months you should mention it to your doctor. However, open heart surgery is a major ordeal for your body you shouldn't expect to be back to normal yet. Good luck! xxx

Yes it's very possible the stress on your body because of the surgery affected your hormones. Our bodies are such intricate machines, they respond to major changes in mysterious ways. I don't think the "movement" in your stomach has anything to do with your period being late. Things will get back on track in a matter of time. Enjoy not having a period for awhile!!

The best thing to do would be to ask your doctor.
If you don't want to go to the doctor for it you could always be the next virgin mary? =p
Seriously though, you should ask because if it has nothing to do with the surgery then it could be another medical condition.

i think any sort of stress or trauma can cause lateness, but if your worried talk to your doctor or your mother?

I would say yes, the stress on your body caused this. You could call the advice nurse if you are worried, but I say you are worrying over nothing. Take care.

yes the meds the doctor is giving you could be messing up your system. Moving stomach (gas ??)
