寓言故事中英文版---守株待兔
有個農夫正在耕田,忽看到一頭野兔飛奔跑過。野兔撞到一棵大樹上,斷頸而死。
農夫不勞而獲,十分高興,拾了野兔回家烹調。
從此,農夫不願再拿起鋤頭,只是整天坐在大樹下,耐心等第二頭野兔的來臨。
可是第二頭野兔始終沒有出現,但農夫卻成了國人的笑柄。
The Wait For The Hare
A farmer was ploughing the fields one day when he saw a hare running wildly. The hare ran into a tree, broke its neck, and died.
The farmer happily reaped without sowing and took the hare home for dinner. Since then, he refused to pick up his hoe again. Instead, he sat beneath the tree and waited patiently for a second hare to come.
But a second hare never came his way. Rather, he became the laughing-stuck of the whole state.

有一隻蚌,正張開蚌殼曬太陽。忽然飛來一隻鷸鳥,想啄食牠的肉,蚌馬上將殼合上,把鷸嘴箝住了。
鷸說:「要是今天不下雨,明天不下雨,我將看到沙灘上有一隻死蚌。」
蚌立即反唇相譏道:「我是我今天不把殼張開,明天也不把殼張開,我也將看到沙灘上有有一隻死鷸。」
當雙方仍在相持不下之際,有個漁翁經過,將牠倆一網成擒了。
The Clam and The Snipe
A clam was basking in the sun when suddenly a snipe flew down to peck her flesh. The clam immediately closed up her shell, gripping the snipe's beak in between.
"If it doesn't rain today, and it doesn't rain tomorrow," said the snipe. "I shall see a dead clam on the beach."
"If I don't open today, and I don't open up tomorrow," retorted the clam, "I, too, shall see a dead snipe on the beach."
While they were still grappling with each other, a fisherman passed by and netted them both.
