Air pollution is the modification of the natural characteristics of the atmosphere by a chemical, particulate matter, or biological agent.
There are many substances in the air which may impair the health of plants and animals (including humans), or reduce visibility. These arise both from natural processes and human activity. Substances not naturally found in the air or at greater concentrations or in different locations from usual are referred to as pollutants.
The greatest source of emissions is actually from vehicles. Other sources include factories and power stations. Gases such as sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide are emitted from different sources. The acidic gases result in acid rain which affect the soil for plant growing and habitats of animals. Global warming is also a important issue aroused many people's attention.
