But there is also a name to group all the people from Hong Kong, it is known as "Hong Kongers" (or sometimes Hongkongers). Recently, the word 'Hongkongese' is also found and is getting more popular to describe the unique local culture of Hong Kong or to refer to Hongkongers.



I personally think Hong-Kongese or Hongkongers works.
If not, you could say [people from Hong Kong].

But the answer depends on different situation.
If someone asks you ''Where do you come from?'
I think you should answer like this: ''I come from Hong Kong''
and don't say i am Hong Kong people.
In writing, i think you should use ''Hong Kong people'<-----means people living in HK ,not a specific one
