Describe the transformational relationship between each pair of equations in words and in mapping notation
1. y= (x-1)^2 and y=x^2
2. -2y= (x-2)^2 and y=x^2

I have no idea how to do those.

y=(x-1)^2 is y=x^2 shifted +1 on the x-axis, with its lowest point at (1,0).

-2y=(x-2)^2
y=(-1/2)*(x-2)^2
This is an inverted y=x^2 shifted +2 on the x-axis, with its highest point at (2,0), and for every x, y is half the value of y=x^2.

I don't remember the mapping notations. Can't help you there.
