There are two type of chiller, air cooled and water cooled, air cooled chiller normally located in an open plant since it been designed to be natually ventilated. Water cooled chiller is connected to a cooling tower or other form of cooling media such as river or lake and it can be placed in a plant room.

In a chiller plantroom normally it has the following item
Chiller
Chilled water pumps
Condensing water pumps
Expansion tanks
Mechanical switchboard
Water treatmant plant
