If I go to the gym like 3-4 days a week but I don't drink protein shakes at all, will I still gain muscle? How long does it usually take to notice a difference?

Protein shakes are simply drinks that contain proteins dissolved in water. You can actually take in more proteins by eating beef, pork, chicken or fish in their solid forms, or by drinking milk or soy milk. Beans and peas are also a good source of proteins. The efficacy of protein shakes has been oversold by their manufacturers who are out there to make money. Yes, you will gain muscles without drinking protein shakes at all. Your muscles will firm up within days, and you will notice a difference within weeks.

you will still gain muscle but it takes alot more time, and it will not be as effective as if you were to take a protein shake..

it is a well known fact to people who go to the gym often, you need to take a protein shake after weight lifting, because you are damaging your muscles, yes you can eat high protein foods but it takes longer to digest so it will not get to the muscles fast enough as if you take a drink.

it does not have to be some fancy high proteing bulk up shake, just a regualr protein drink, like isoflex its only about 40$ for a month supply, and you just have it after a workout.. and it even tastes great with water and it's not chunky at all..

Protein shakes are simply a supplement to be used if you're not eating enough protein. Heavy lifting and exercise can induce your body to consuming your muscle mass inorder to feed it's need for protein. Your body can process muscle for energy much easier than it can with fat. The more muscle tissue you have, the more your body can consume fat. So, while drinking protein shakes is not essential. It'll certainly help you to gain muscle mass.

Yes you will still gain muscle without the protein shakes... Try to eat more solid food proteins- those are better for you anyway, but even if you do not change your diet at all, you will still gain plenty of muscle. When I first started training I had no idea that my diet would affect my performance and I gained muscle pretty well anyway.

You should start to notice a change in 1 month and in 3 months other folks will notice you have changed as well.
