sydney pass is for the sydney city, where you can travel.....within the city, and to other areas around the city. it could be that fare included sydney train as well, buses and ferries...

however, newcastle buses and ferries....is for the area of newcastle, it's up north of sydney, it is not the city, where darling harbour, opera house, and harbor bridge situate.
