Because they were written before the strike happened, if its not resolved soon then they will run out of new episodes too.

Because most shows have the next season's episodes already written, produced, and edited at least one season in advance. These two shows are not the only ones w/ new episodes they're just some of the largest prime time shows on prime time networks. Shows that are having problems are ones who's seasons start earlier in the year and they've already burned through all the extra episodes they had lined up.

because they had already written and filmed the episodes before the strike happened. a few shows were not affected including "dexter" on showtime which is my absolute fave.

The scripts were written before the strike.

oh you are wrong....prison break is affected by the writer strike very bad...because of the writer strike prison break had to go on hiatus for 55 days.....and because of the writer strike the 3rd episode just has 13 episodes instead of 22!!!!and because of the writer strike maybe there won't be a 4th season of prison break....so you can see prison break is unfortunately more affected by the writer strike than you thought!

Those episodes were written prior to the stike. The other networks are all showing their remaining episodes of current series, but are all running out quickly.

Soon, the networks are probably going to show the episodes of series that the networks cancelled, just to fill the timeslots with something. That and re-runs.

The only thing I can think of is their not part of the union.
