Account adjustment

我想問有一條 expenses 在 petty cash 計多了 $166, 在 A/C system 度係o岩的, 甘我而家要 adjust 返條數, 應該 credit expense, debit what, 而兩條數至會 balance? thanks a lot !!!

If the entry is a wrong amount being entered, then simply cr. expenses and dr. petty cash for $166. The physical cash in hand is the same and agreed with the petty cash book. It is still in balance.

Because the expenses had been overstated by $166 and the petty cash is understated by the same amount. Suspense account is only used as a temporal measure before a correct account is found has to be charged by reversing the entry in the suspense account.
