In order to contain this circle the square has to have a side at least as long as the circle's radius. Since we want the smallest square, its side will be twice the radius, which is 16.
The area of a square is side squared, and in this case:
16 * 16 = 256 sq. ft.

Hope I helped. :)

8 feet x 2 x 8 feet x 2
= 16 feet x 16 feet
= 256 square feet

Side of the square = diameter of the circle = 16
area = 16 x 16 = 256 sq feet.

science the radius is 8 feet ,hence the side of square is 16 feet, there fore area is 16*16=256 feet^2

radius of circle = 8 feet
therefore, diameter of circle = 16 feet

hence the side of the square = 16 feet
and area of square = side X side = 16 feet X 16 feet
= 256 square feet
