You have y = x^2 + 2x - 15.
So when i line crosses the x- axis (x intercept ), that means the
value of y will be zero.
So you the plug in 0 for y.
which will give you 0 = x^2 + 2x - 15
then you factor out, which will give you
0 = (x -3)(x+5)

And so you solve it one by one.
0 = (x -3)
x = 3
---------
0 = (x+5)
X = -5
----------

So it gonna have two values.

when y = 0 the line will cross the x-axis twice,
at x = 3 and x = -5.

let y=0, so...
0=x^2+2x-15

now you want to factor. find two numbers that when you multiply together, you get -15, but when you add them, you get 2.
so that's 5 and -3
because (5) x (-3)=15
and (5) + (-3) = 2

0=(x+5)(x-3)
so solve for x.
x=(-5) and 3

the parabola will cross the x axis at (-5,0) and (3,0)

x intercept means y = 0.
0 = x^2 + 2x - 15
0 = (x + 5)(x - 3)
Therefore x = -5, or x = 3.
So (-5, 0), (3, 0).
