Cats eyes will dilate to adjust to different light settings.

The cat's pupils will be wide open in darker settings to catch as much light as possible. They can't see in the dark but can see in very low light situations. Their pupils can also be very wide when they're afraid. The pupils are smaller when there is too much light. Interesting, isn't it. Well, cats can't squint like we can and they don't have sunglasses either. Wouldn't that be a sight, though?

They are just like our eyes, they dilate depending on the lighting conditions. The only difference is that theirs moves as a slit, and ours moves as a circle.

When cats eyes dilate they the go from the ( I ) shape to the ( O ) shape while humans just go from ( o) to ( O). Can'ts eyes open to the sides while humans just open uniformly (round)

It is different with different animals like goats have eyes that look like a zero ( 0 ) except tip the zero on it's side so it's horizontal. Their eyes also close to the sides like cats.
