drink warm drinks they help...stay away from carbonation too....believe it or not it really does make them worse! so when you get it just stay clear of it..and a few weeks before.
excercise really helps too it gets the bllod flowing and helps reduce cramps.i quit carbonation all together and started jogging while i was on my period and it really helped.also take a long hot bath! omg it feels great..they also make heating pad that you cvan wear and it does help..its like a bandaid and it just sticks there and heats for hours
