fear of the dark is called: nyctophobia
you can TRY do to do the following to get rid of your phobia.
if you think it is affecting your life (ie. you can't sleep well at night) then you should go to ur doctor.
1. make a list of things that scares you in the dark room.
2. 1st try to imagine yourself in a dark room with all those sounds that you hear.
do this for 10 mins/day for several days
3. then, imagine yourself in a dark room with all the things on the list that scares you.
do this exercise (10 mins/day), until you are comfortable with this image in your mind.
4. lastly and MOST IMPORTANTLY: SPEND TIME IN THE DARK room by yourself.
again, around 10min/day
this is only 1 way of trying to get yourself comfortable with the dark. if it doesn't work you can try other options.
