How does the film inspire you? Target group(s)? How my attitude to life changed?
I like the film Finding Nemo because it is more than a kid's cartoon. After watching, I think children can learn more about how parents think. Also, this film is useful for parents who want to know how to communicate with children better.
Children should learn from Marlin that sometimes our parents are troublesome, but that is because they love us, and don't want us to get hurt. So we should not blame our parents for bothering us. Try to listen to them. If we don't, they will be very sad.
Movie text:
(1) Marlin: "I promise, I will never let anything happen to you." (Parents love children)
(2) Nemo: "I hate you!" (really hurt parents!)
Parents, on the other hand, should learn from Nemo that even if they really love children, they should not over-protect them. Otherwise, they can never grow up. Also, parents should not sound rude when they want to stop children from doing wrong things. If Merlin had not appeared so tough, Nemo would not have been more rebellious and got near the boat, and then got caught by humans.
Movie text:
Marlin: "Don't you dare? If you put one fin on that boat ... Are you listening to me? Don't touch that boat!" -- (Then Nemo touched the boat. But at first Nemo didn't want to!)
We can also learn from the movie that we should not give up easily. Co-operation is very important. Nemo is small, but he is brave. He also encourages all the fish caught in the net to: swim down! don't give up! keep swimming! So they successfully escape when they all work together.
Finally, the film reminds me that we should love animals! Don't play or torture fish like the terrible girl does! For example, if we shake fish like she does, they will get hurt or die easily.
Movie text:
"Fishy, wake up! why are you sleeping!" (while shaking the plastic bag with Nemo inside)
